A well-balanced interplay of textures and materials was the key to the design of these offices for a renewable energy company, a project we carried out in collaboration with CBRE.

We reflected the company’s commitment to reducing its ecological footprint by using recycled or recyclable materials throughout the office.

The core of the project was to create a fully functional work environment inspired by the four natural elements—sun, earth, water, and air.

The sun is represented, on one hand, through the toasted-toned ribbed wood paneling that runs through the workspaces and, on the other, through natural fiber textiles such as raffia or the deep reddish Kvadrat fabric used in the furniture.

We represented earth through the handcrafted terracotta lattice by Mutina, designed by Patricia Urquiola, which separates the spaces in the more formal area without interrupting the flow of light. In addition, the irregular-edged ceramic pieces by Wow Design cover vertical surfaces to distinguish singular areas such as the reception, while also evoking the sandy tones of river pebbles.

Air is symbolized by the slightly rough off-white finish on the walls throughout all the spaces.

We also integrated a café where one can pause for a coffee while enjoying views of the city and the mountains. The equipment needed for its use is located along the blind wall of this space, integrated into an archway inspired by a naval hangar. It is precisely in this canteen that the four elements come together, shaping islands of tables and sea-blue upholstered chairs, as well as custom-made benches upholstered with recycled-origin fabrics. The choice and use of these materials reinforce the company’s commitment to the planet.
